Using the BIM&Co dictionary

There are 4 methods to enrich your dictionary. BIM&Co offers a set of properties harmonized by experts and made available to build its own dictionary. These public dictionary properties may or may not be added to the company's library.

By clicking on Enrich, a window allows to select properties to add to its private dictionary. The added properties are those of the BIM&Co dictionary and therefore cannot be modified.

The modification of a BIM&Co property requires therefore to duplicate it in its private space. A message is then displayed to warn the user of this duplication.

The new duplicated property is directly associated with its parent property of the BIM&Co dictionary. This link will be visible and editable in the BIM&Co equivalencies.

Manually

Last method, create the properties manually directly in the dictionary. In the dictionary interface, click on the + button in the upper right corner.

The creation dialog is displayed, you must then fill in the proposed fields:

• Name (The name of the property will be the one displayed on the detail of your object)
• Description (The description is used to explain what your property corresponds to)
• Default language (to choose from the drop-down menu)
• Domain (choose from the predefined list)
• Unit (The choice of the unit makes it possible to bring an important precision to your property).
• Datatype (The datatype makes your data readable by a machine and ensures good interoperability, numeric, text, Boolean ...)
