The shared parameters file contains parameter definitions that can be used in several Revit projects or families.
This text file is made up of groups and unique identifiers (GUIDs), Parameter Names and Datatypes that can be retrieved from Onfly. This is the tool defined by Revit to share parameters.

Onfly lets you manage this file online, so that you have a single source of truth and can no longer edit the file locally.

In the properties list, click on the Actions button, and a drop-down menu will suggest Importing a shared settings file.

⚠️
A window is displayed to upload the text parameters file for a given language. Properties will be created in this language. If the language selected is not the default language, this is mandatory and will also be filled in with the parameter name.

A preview of the parameter file is displayed for checking.
The parameters in the text file are then converted into properties in Onfly.

⚠️ Groups in the shared parameter file are not converted to Domains but are stored in the Revit definition.

An import summary page is then displayed.
If errors are detected, they are indicated by an indicator and text is displayed on mouse-over to explain the problem. Properties in error are not imported into the dictionary.

⚠️
Onfly detects duplicates on import (if a property already exists with the same GUID or the same name, for example) and does not import them.
