The BIM&CO technology is based on a central database linked to standards and which can be connected to yours, to your dictionary. The mapping aims to connect two identical parameters but with different names (because they come from different standards or projects).
The mapping tables between your dictionary and your different project standards (e.g. Revit shared parameters) are called Naming Conventions.
These naming conventions allow you to download and share objects between your projects and your library by translating the equivalent parameters from one environment to another. These naming conventions are defined for one language only. Please also read the use of naming conventions in the plugin.
The left column represents the name of the property in the naming convention and the right column represents the correspondance in the dictionary.
To create a naming convention, click on the drop-down menu that lists the naming conventions and choose "New naming convention".
The next screen allows you to import the shared paramters file needed for the naming convention. Be sure to choose the language of the naming convention when creating it.
The naming convention take the name of the imported shared parameters file. It is possible to change it by editing the naming convention. Once imported, the parameters from the file are displayed in the "Unmapped" column.
You need to select the dictionary property to link by clicking the "Map" button.
The mapping created is displayed in the "Mapped" tab of the naming convention interface.
You need to do the same for all the properties that need to be mapped.
Click the "Edit" button, you can then upload the modified shared parameters file to update the naming convention. Drag it to the upload area or click in this frame to reach the file on your hard drive.
